Finally understanding the plot of a movie I watched 12 years ago
Wow, I’m a little surprised I hadn’t posted anything since I moved to the house. Then again, this year seems to have passed by even quicker than usual. First it’s January and it’s a whirlwind of activity prepping for the move and coordinating the tail-end of the renovations…next thing you know, it’s September and we’ve been here for 8 months.
Just to provide a sense of closure: yes, we did it! We moved in!
If I were to summarize where we are now, I would say that we’re past the “fun getting stuff to fill up the extra space” phase and in the “what am I supposed to do now, thinking about this house has been my last 2 years” phase. Though make no mistake: there is still an endless stream of house stuff to do, and more renovations to eventually plan–it’s just kinda settled into the background.
I need a new foreground thing.
2022 Keyboard Family Photo
Brief house update: the contractors have started! Actually they started 3 weeks ago, and given the project is meant to be 3-4 months long, that implies they’re ~20% of the way done? It seems like most of the large demo is complete (relative to other renovations though, ours doesn’t have a ton of demo) and they’re starting on electrical and plumbing in earnest now. We’re about to start the wood stripping too. I’m taking lots of pictures along the way but I think I’ll wait til the process is wrapping up to comment in more detail about it; it’ll be easier to get an idea of the major milestones after the fact.
Back to the REAL reason for this post: 2022 keyboard family picture! After being in this “hobby” for 2.5 yrs now (it’s even documented in here–I started back in April or May 2020), I apparently own 12 keyboards. 10 pictured here, 2 are at work so pictured at time of build:
The Start of a (Very Expensive) New Journey
Well, after 4 years of very strongly desiring a townhome, the dream has happened! (Sidenote: “the dream” is something that just suddenly popped up in 2018 sometime–not sure what spurred it, but now I can’t remember the feeling of ever NOT wanting a townhome.) We recently closed on a rowhouse! Huzzah!
