Stupid Crediting > Stealing

The subject of stealing has been beaten with a stick ad infinitum, so I’m not going to touch it here. Rather, today shall focus on stupid, utterly useless crediting that is in many ways worse than stealing because it displays the complete spectrum of mental idiocy. And there will be an example. There can be no point if there is no example. I don’t even mind if the site gets more hits due to this because this type of affliction must be so rare that even one case must be viewed by all. At least, I hope it’s rare.
(I’m kind of irritated right now.)
So, if you steal, at least you know, in the process of removing the credit, that what you’re doing is wrong, right? So there might be a little bit of guilt. And if there isn’t, well, then sooner or later other people will find out and feel shame for you. At least with stealing, there’s a modicum of intelligence. You see the object of desire, and want to claim it as yours. It’s not commendable- in fact, it’s downright disgusting- but you are aware of all that. Okay. At least you have two brain cells you can rub together.
But then look at this.
Now, if you take a lot of resources, which quite obviously form the main basis of your work, and then think a measly single line of text at the far reaches of your page that reads “Resources©to the respective owners” (straight off the site, copied and pasted) can account for the “some textures, some brushes God know where from gradients and thats about it” (”thats [sic] about it”? God is she trying to kill me? That’s the foundation for a small graphics site right there!), then exactly how justifiable is that? Do you think that’s crediting? You might as well have just left that line out, tried to get away with it, and joined the ranks of the countless other stealers out there and been dealt with in a likewise manner. I wouldn’t have wrote anything about that; too many have already. But this, this is just too much. This is overachieving. This soars into the all-time high scores of retardation. This just makes me extremely, extremely worried for the state of the world.
And look at the Terms of Use, under Resources:

Feel free to use the resources for your layouts,wallpapers,avatars or any kind of graphic but please give credit. by linking us back

Oh how quaint. They want a link back for their resources, ignoring the utter hypocrisy of that statement. I’m fairly sure that the sites they ambiguously lumped together as “resources” also wanted a link back, instead of a bypass that was too pathetic to even qualify for stealing. And under the general Graphics category, they say:

Do not claim any o the graphic as your own doing, me my mistress as well as my staff worked really hard on every one of those graphic peaces.

“Really hard.” I may question that, but for all I know, they may have. Yet I’m sure the (unfortunately, nameless) people who made the resources with which “me my mistress” make their graphics also worked “really hard” on every one of their “graphic peaces.” (I don’t really want to dig at their English, because I checked their profiles and English might not be many of their first languages, but it’s hard to resist sometimes. Yes, I admit it; I’m just being petty.) Their designs, compared to their terms of use, reflect a completely different set of values. I can’t make them coincide. Perhaps all these numerous “textures and brushes [...] and gradients” were from their own site? But obviously not, because the design creator admits to not knowing where the brushes came from. And anyway, if that were so, there would be no need for the line, “Resources©to the respective owners.” No, what’s going on is clear: these girls are taking resources from other sites, using them with little discrimination on their own, and committing the greatest crime to roam the internet: complete lack of common sense.

Please, discuss. And somebody, please e-mail them and inform them of their wrongdoing. I would but…I don’t want to hurt any feelings.
